Garden Birds

Hand-carved from bamboo root, a material that would otherwise go to waste, DCUK’s Garden Birds live in harmony with their environment. Sporting richly painted peaked-caps and sunhats, this chirpy family enjoy nothing more than tending their plots with a spot of weeding and pruning.

Flexible copper feet mean these restless souls can perch where they choose, and even tap a toe to the radio. Each Garden Bird arrives in their own illustrated bird house gift box, offering reassuring sentiments and creating a narrative backdrop for each bird flying to its new home.

The copper feet are held in place by the clever folded cardboard base, avoiding the need for any extra clips or fastenings. The boxes themselves serve a few purposes. They look great and make it easy for people to give someone a visually striking gift. They help offer protection if being sent through the post or carried home from the shop.

And they offer retailers another option to display the range, regardless of the limitations of the space, or fears of customers handling and damaging the birds. Creating a visually striking and practical storage option at the point of purchase will really benefit customers and retailers.

The Garden Birds have each been put through their paces with our not-very-technical (but effective) ‘smile test’. If it makes all the DCUK team smile, we just do it.
