London Transport Museum Fair Trade Tree Decorations

Just Trade is a design-led jewellery and accessories brand built around the interests of the people who make our products. Working in collaboration with makers in Peru, Ecuador, India and Vietnam, we believe in a system of trade that prioritises producers, communities and the environment.

Normally we travel on an annual basis to each of these projects to offer technical skills and design training, work on quality control and collaborate on new collections and bespoke designs. During these trips we also ensure that the highest welfare standards are upheld and set goals for improvement. Between us we are constantly looking to provide fairly paid meaningful work opportunities for marginalised people, especially women.

These hand crocheted bus and train tree decorations were designed and made in collaboration with Ana from the Hope Jewellery Project in Lima Peru. Ana has been working with Hope Jewellery and Just Trade for nearly two years now. The fairly paid part time work that she does making crocheted items means that she is able to work from home and still have time to look after her baby son.
These products have been selling incredibly well for London Transport Museum both instore and online and they are now on their 3rd order, with volumes increasing each time. A team of six women from the Hope Jewellery project are now making these orders and Ana is very proud!
