Go Genius - The Matching Pairs Game

A range of 3 memory games aimed at children aged 6 plus that support key stage 1 and 2 teaching. Children go on a 3-step educational journey. 1) they play the game and win as many pairs of matching cards as possible 2) they study the cards and 3) they do the Go Genius challenge.
To play the matching pairs game, all 36 cards need to be placed face down on a flat surface. Players then take turns to turn the cards over. If they match, they keep the pair and play again. If they don't match, the player turns the cards face down again and play passes to the next person. The person who wins the most pairs is the winner. Players need to keep their wits about them as the game is all about concentration, observation and memory!
In order to do the Go Genius challenge, players need to study the cards for five minutes. There are 18 pairs of matching cards in each game. In the maths title, the subjects covered include fraction, decimal and percentage equivalents, time, area, perimeter, shapes and angles. In the English title, subjects covered vary from nouns, adjectives and verbs to homonyms, palindromes and onomatopoeia. In the World title, different countries with capital cities, continents and national flags are featured on the cards, alongside a fun fact about each nation.
After studying the cards for five minutes, players need to ask a friend or family member to read five questions from the 36 supplied.
Anyone who gets five out of five questions correct is a genius and gets to put a genius stamp (provided) in their passport (also provided, for children to personalise). Not everyone is a genius, so if they don't get five questions correct straight away, they don't need to worry. They can play the game again another time, as the more they play Go Genius - the Matching Pairs Game, the more they will learn!
