During the pandemic, I found myself getting creative to boost my mood and break up the monotony of being stuck indoors all the time. I dabbled in painting and even tried my hand at growing vegetables. But you know what? I also discovered a newfound passion for burning candles, which had a wonderfully positive impact on my mood. Unfortunately, some of the store-bought candles gave my husband headaches, plus I ended up accumulating quite a few unused jars, and eventually had to throw some of them away when I had no use for them. This bothered me to be honest.

In the summer of 2021, my husband and I went on a weekend away and enjoyed afternoon tea in a garden café. The delightful scents surrounding us, including blooming roses, fresh lavender, calming chamomile and elderflower aromas, transported me to a beautiful rural setting. Inspired by those complex scents, I decided to recreate them in our home as a reminder of that moment. This is when the concept for our aromatherapy brand was born.

Drawing inspiration from nature’s bountiful gifts and fuelled by a strong desire to create a sustainable brand that could make a positive impact in the candle industry, I embarked on creating a luxury fragrance brand. I started with and still make ready-made candles and reed diffusers. I chose the more sustainable blend of rapeseed and coconut wax for our candles, vegetable glycerin from renewable sources for our reed diffusers, and use 100% essential oils and plant extracts for our scents. Our products are free from synthetic fragrances, paraffin, phthalates, dyes, and any hidden ingredients. Oh, and they're all vegan friendly too! Our commitment to excellence extended beyond the choice of ingredients to eco-friendly packaging. We use reusable and recyclable vessels, bottles, and packaging, printed with 100% vegetable inks. We actively educate and encourage our customers to reuse these items in their homes or offices through our website and social media channels.

Despite all this, we felt that this alone wasn't enough to truly address the waste problem in the candle industry. During the pandemic, I ran out of ideas on how to repurpose my empty candle jars and ended up throwing some away, and I know I this can be said in many homes too. Candle vessels are still ending up in recycling bins and landfills, due to non-reuse, or improper cleaning. So, we asked ourselves, "What change could we possibly make?"

After a lot of research and testing, we finally came up with our fantastic pre-scented candle in a pouch! It's made with a premium blend of rapeseed and coconut wax, ensuring a clean and long-lasting burn. It is infused with 100% essential oils and plant extracts, and the best part? It comes packaged in a 100% compostable pouch. Inside the pouch, you'll find everything you need to make a new candle; the pre-scented wax, a cotton wick coated in vegetable wax, and a wooden wick holder. Simply remove the accessories, pop the pouch in a microwave or boiling water to melt the wax, pour it into a suitable vessel, and leave it to set for a few hours, before lighting it up to enjoy a luxurious, sustainable candle.
