Founded in 1967, in rural North Devon Dartington is immensely proud of being the last remaining large scale producer of hand-made crystal in the UK. All of our crystal continues to be made at our factory in Torrington, using traditional, age old hand making techniques. Our design style is very much based on our Scandinavian heritage –clear contemporary lines. Dartington has earned a reputation for being innovate, friendly and easy to work with and today much of our capacity is given to private label and exclusive projects. In 2005 Dartington acquired Caithness Glass, world famous art glass made in Scotland followed by Royal Brierley Crystal in 2006 one of the oldest crystal brands dating back to 1776 with two Royal Warrants. John Beswick, sculptural and functional ceramics accessories, followed in 2009.
Dartington has expanded its portfolio and design style by working with a small number of trusted European suppliers. We source a range of product from hand-made glass giftware to machine made drinkware. Many of these products are to Dartington’s exclusive design and are more fashion and colour led, complementing our crystal ranges, and giving us a competitive edge.

Why did you choose to enter the GOTY competition? have you entered in the past and has it helped your brand grow?
We wanted to highlight our fantastic team. Their passion, creativity and making skills are second to none. We have entered Gift of the Year in the past which some fantastic success and want the Gift of the Year team to see Dartington Crystal pieces once more.
