With a distinctive signature design aesthetic, Rosanna, Inc has been recognized as a leader in the industry winning awards and honors in design; having the distinct privilege of being voted “Best New Product” for NY NOW’s 2014 Tabletop Housewares, as well as being a 2013-2016 finalist for NY NOW’s Tabletop Category. Rosanna’s is also the first American company to win the prestigious Gift of the Year Award in the UK in 2005.
Founder Rosanna Bowles is also a leader in her community. She was featured in “O” Magazine’s “Women Who Make Beautiful Things,” along with many other features over the years. In June 2016, Rosanna, graced the cover of Seattle Business Magazine alongside Seattle’s most enterprising women, discussing their trajectories to the top of the competitive, male-dominated business market. With tableware distributed in more than fifteen countries, Rosanna, Inc also works with some of the world’s largest companies, including Starbucks, Nordstrom, Macy’s, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Smithsonian Institute, The National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and The White House Historical Association.
Tell us about the products you have entered
Erbe Italiane is a collection of porcelain serve ware for pasta. All artwork is hand watercolored in our Rosanna, Inc. Seattle, Washington studio. The fresh herbs that make Italian food so delicious are vibrantly displayed on each form of the collection. The herbs are identified in Italian script celebrating their importance in the Italian cuisine.
Urban Heirloom is a collection of porcelain tableware that is a modern nod to Baroque and Victorian design without the excess decoration. The beauty of pared-down design elements on traditional forms are decorated with textiles from England and France dating back to the 18th century. Charming leaves from birch, oak, and linden trees are turned into beautiful vessels for appetizers, desserts or salads. All items are beautifully gift boxed with hand-laminated boxes.
Cook Eat Love is a porcelain collection of serve ware for lovers of traditional Italian pasta meals. Hand-drawn original fonts encircle the pieces in the tricolor of the Italian flag. Individual condiment dishes are festooned with handwritten calligraphy calling out delicious virgin olive oil, sea salt, and balsamic vinegar. All items are gift boxed in beautiful handmade gift box; on the back of the box is a delicious recipe from Umbria, Italy.
Bloom is a collection of serveware in porcelain with fashionable semi-matte glaze. All pieces are beautifully gift-boxed. With the meaning of specific flowers written on the back of each gift box. Hand-painted flowers in watercolor playfully grace each piece of serveware. The collection includes mugs, appetizer plates, a set of three organic shaped nesting bowls, preserve server, oval platter, and charming organic-shaped cake plates for mini cakes and large cakes for tea.
Olive Oil is a collection celebrating the delicious olive oils from around the world. Handwritten ink calligraphy celebrates Italy, Spain, France, and California with descriptions of the flavorful olive oils from those regions. The collection is gift boxed individually with olive oil dipping bowls, olive oil carafe, set of four individual pasta bowls and one beautiful serving bowl all in durable porcelain.
Why did you choose to enter the GOTY competition? have you entered in the past and has it helped your brand grow?
We were graciously nominated by Progressive Tableware International. This is the second time we have been nominated, winning the award in 2005. It was a very proud and happy moment for our company. Our customers from around the world were very impressed and we use the photograph of that evening in 2005 in our online awards and in our showrooms across the United States.
What other products will you be bringing to market in 2023
We will be introducing 3 new collections for the Gift Tabletop Category.
La Jardinière is a collection of beautiful serveware with hand-painted vegetables and fruit that surround a large serving bowl. The same motif is found on individual bowls and dipping bowls in four strong color stories and an oil cafe for serving delicious extra virgin olive oil. All gift are boxed in individual boxes for easy gift-giving; French names of the fruits and vegetables are scattered throughout the design.
Peaceful Kingdom. Nature continues to be an important theme in tableware, and we have painted charming creatures from the natural world in beautiful watercolors to grace mugs and serve ware four different Wildflowers adorn 6-inch square appetizer plates in a gift box for a beautiful gift.
Snack with Forest Friends. Our last collection is a nod to creative play with our collection for children with Snacks with Forest friends. Mugs for small hands and petite bowls make this a perfect set for healthy snacks. The box design has a special game urging children to find the forest friends hidden in the forest.
