Whiz Kid Games creates environmentally-friendly and educational games for children that are great fun to play and a great way to learn. The design-led games are aimed at children aged 5 plus and have been designed to support key stage 1 and 2 schoolwork.
Tell us about the products you have entered
The products are all part of the Go Genius Board Game range. Players go on the educational trip of a lifetime - they travel around the board, answering multiple choice questions with 3 different levels of difficulty trying to avoid the minefield of spaces that demand they miss a turn, go back 5 spaces, do a forfeit etc. Play ends when the first player crosses the finish line. Scores are added up and the person with the highest score wins.
Anyone who gets from start to finish and scores more than 15 points can add a genius sticker (included in the games) to their Go Genius Passport (also included in the games for children to personalise).
Each Go Genius passport has room for 4 stickers which encourages the children to move onto another title in the range once they have mastered one title.
Why did you choose to enter the GOTY competition? have you entered in the past and has it helped your brand grow?
Yes, the first three titles in the Go Genius board game range were entered in 2021 and won the kids educational category - it was a great way for the games, and the range as a whole, to be seen by a wider audience. Then using the GOTY logos and advertising the games as GOTY winners to potential buyers has also helped as it's like adding a badge of quality to the products, which has been really important for WKG in its start-up years.
What other products will you be bringing to market in 2023
We will be launching some smaller Go Genius card games - again highly entertaining, so great fun for all the family, but with educational content.
Where can your products be purchased
In the UK the Go Genius range is distributed by Smart Toy and Games and the games can be found in many high street retailers - for example Hamleys, but also online in the likes of Wicked Uncle.
