Kate, founder of Rounded came up with the idea for a brand focussed on design led gifting footballs when she was wrapping yet another football up as a present for her children’s friends. She always struggled to find affordable footballs that were stylish, fun or unique and found them hard to disguise when wrapping!
She realised there was a gap in the market for design led footballs that would appeal to the footballers unique personality and ones that they would love to show off in the playground and on the pitch.

Also, there was a need to offer the option for a gift box to make the gifting experience just that little bit easier. When designing she had the idea that the box could also solve another problem, storage for the balls. The gift box has been created so that it can then be used as stackable storage and would look good in any room – not just the garage.

The designs are such that they appeal to both girls and boys however the real mission is to help support the growth of girls football.

It’s something Kate is quite passionate about -many years ago having been that girl in the playground not being allowed to kick a ball around with the boys. She appreciates girls football has come a long way since then but still feels that the opportunity and inclusivity for girls could improve from the grassroots level.
The more we can do to encourage girls to get out and play at the grassroots level the better. It would be great if in years to come that in every playground, football is the activity for all and not predominately for the boys.

Obviously as a start up the funds are limited, but Rounded pledges that as they grow more and more of the profits will be put back into girls’ grassroots football.

The launch collection comprises of 6 football designs with two corresponding gift boxes. The consumer or retailer can decide if they’d like to purchase the balls on their own or complete with the stackable gift box. Whilst Rounded has focussed on the affordable gift market with competitive prices, quality has not been compromised with the balls machine stitched and made from high quality PVC leather.
