The Wyllieum
Eurostick
Asking big questions lay at the heart of all George Wyllie's prolific creative output - although often his work intended to provoke thought and discussion rather than provide answers. Describing himself as a "Scul?tor" at his first exhibition in 1976 at the Collins Gallery in Glasgow, Wyllie’s "trademark" question mark is at the heart of the exhibition. The permanent exhibition is located in a fantastic glass gallery facility in Greenock on the banks of the River Clyde.
We took the "Wyllie Question Mark" as inspiration and incorporated it into a number of designs and products and developed a range of gifts and souvenirs that locals and international visitors can take away. The range holds together if bought in isolation or as part of a multi-purchase and offers a choice of formats.
In a further close development with the Gallery, a charitable Trust, we are also able to offer the range to any customers with a percentage commission being returned to the Trust as a royalty.
The range includes single magnets and keyrings, 4 pack magnets, Shopper Bags and Mugs with all of the designs using the thought provoking artwork and sayings made famous by the Artist.
All designed in-house in our Glasgow Studio.
Sales through the gallery benefit from all of the cruise passengers that pass through the shop on their way to visit the West of Scotland and as such this range and the other products they listed from us, have contributed significantly to the bottom line of the Trust.
