Remembrance Duckling

Dressed in white boots with delicate, hand-painted poppies as an enduring symbol of gratitude and hope, our limited-edition charity Ducklings celebrate resilience under immense pressure. Wearing their poppies with pride, our new Remembrance Poppy Ducklings honour the sacrifices of British, Commonwealth and Allied servicemen and women as we remember together.

By early evening on the day of launch, the initial stock completely sold out. 20% of all sales were donated to the Royal British Legion, and this level of support from each sale will continue when we start to sell again in early 2021.

DCUK is especially proud that the Remembrance Duckling was a springboard for the sharing of so many personal memories, images, and positive sentiment through many shared stories across social media.

Each character is hand carved and then carefully painted individually, making each one unique.

Names that we feel suit them are printed onto cotton name tags, and then carefully tied around the neck of each one. Customers can personalise these too if they wish. Every single one also proudly displays their DCUK Pin – a promise that it is a true DCUK original. This means it is guaranteed to have been handcrafted from earth-kind bamboo, painted individually and is ready to charm and delight its new owner.

The Remembrance Duckling has been put through its paces with our not-very-technical (but effective) ‘smile test’. If it makes all the DCUK team smile, we just do it. If someone else smiles, we carry on with a bigger spring in our step. And if a customer has a smile when they see one of our characters, they usually buy or stock it.

We’re confident that our Remembrance Duckling will make the judges smile too. If that happens, then we will have achieved our goal.
