The Three Kings

Our lavishly dressed Duckling Kings follow the stars, waddling west to be where you are. DCUK’s Three Kings wear crowns in the colours of their gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh, in the hope they will bring prosperity, health and joy to everyone at Christmas time.

The range includes three separate Duckling Kings, along with their Dinky Duck versions. We will also be offering hanging decorations in a similar style for trade pre-orders.

Each King is hand carved and then carefully painted individually, making each one unique, with slightly different poses, sculpts and painted elements. The raised detailing and tiny brush work on each King are a real treat, with intricate patterns covering the bamboo root in style. This is topped off with a moulded crown, again pressed and painted by hand.

Names that we feel suit them are printed onto cotton name tags, and then carefully tied around the neck of each one. Customers can personalise these too if they wish. Every single one also proudly displays their DCUK Pin – a promise that it is a true DCUK original. This means it is guaranteed to have been handcrafted from earth-kind bamboo, painted individually and is ready to charm and delight its new owner.

The Three Kings range has been put through its paces with our not-very-technical (but effective) ‘smile test’. If it makes all the DCUK team smile, we just do it. If someone else smiles, we carry on with a bigger spring in our step. And if a customer has a smile when they see one of our characters, they usually buy or stock it.
